Eating for Pennies – Part II – What I Ate

Welcome back to our series on eating on the cheap.  If you missed Part I, here is the link.  So with a bit of effort my wife and I have tracked every meal we have eaten in the last two weeks to give you a clue on how we eat on the cheap.  I’ll point out that breakfast and lunch for us are usually different but what she eats is what the kids have.  I get up and eat significantly earlier than she does and I eat lunch at work during the week.

Before we get started I will point out the roast beef is a rather rare event perhaps once every few months.  Also we did not track snacks as we felt that was getting a bit insane to keep track of and don’t freak out if you see something on one day and the see it about 10 days later as leftovers.  We tend to freeze excess amounts we know we are not going to eat within a week.  We try to have some fruit or vegetable at least with lunch and supper but we did not always remember to write it down.
